49, which includes 4 motels, multiple food service and Prime Outlets Mall, featuring over 70 upscale outlet shops.
McIntosh County is located about midway between Savannah, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida so there are 2
international airports within 60 miles, and port facilities are within 15 miles of the county.
In downtown Darien, The McIntosh County Development Authority has completed a beautiful waterfront park with a new bike path along the Darien River and docking facilities.
Plans call for additional docking facilities,full service marina, a new restaurant and a 52 unit condominium project.
A new commercial/residential development is proposed for the Broad Street property of the McIntosh County Development Authority, overlooking
the Darien River and the new waterfront park. The estimated cost of one million dollars will be privately funded.
The State of Georgia's Business Expansion and Support Act (BEST) provides a tax credit of $3,500 for each new job created by industries starting
or expanding operations.
